Chris BaileyBorn in Sheffield in 1977, upon discovering a cupboard full of different brass instruments at my local boys brigade company H.Q. and thanks to an encouraging and trusting boys brigade captain I was allowed to play with all of them (It takes a brave man to let a 10 year old loose with a cupboard full of instruments unsupervised!!). Eventually settling on the trombone at the age of 15 after several different diversions I took lessons and joined every local youth music organization I could get in to from the City of Sheffield Youth Brass Band, Sheffield Youth Orchestra and every amateur blow band/rehearsal band I could find to the local drum and bugle corps Concord where I marched in competition for the U.K. championships from 1990-'95.

Taking up the trombone has eventually proved to be one of the best decisions in my life, although I had no idea at the time of course! Since then I've won an 'Archer Scholarship’ to Trinity College of Music in London to study with the great Bobby Lamb and been the recipient of an outstanding performance award at the I.A.J.E. conference in L.A. in 2005. Besides all this I've generally been having a ball ever since!

Lee HallamI've been asked to perform with a wide variety of well known artistes such as: The Bobby Lamb orchestra, Cleo Laine, Jaqui Dankworth, John Dankworth, Butch Miles, James Morrison, Peter Grant, Dennis Rollins, The Rat Pack, The Andy Prior Big Band, Robson and Jerome, Bobby Shew, Alan Barnes, Georgie Fame, Diane Schuur, Joe Longthorn, The Glenn Miller Orchestra U.K, The Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band, The English Three Tenors, The Rat Pack, The John Miller Orchestra, The Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra, The New Squadronaires Orchestra, The Mingus Big Band, Michael Finestein, Diahann Carroll and Mark Nightingale to name a few, along with recordings and T.V. appearances for Granada television, I.T.V, CBBC, BBC, RTL and 20th Century Fox.

I'm currently Holding the lead trombone chair with the 'Empress Orchestra' at Blackpool Tower Ballroom and playing for the yearly Ballroom & Sequence dancing world championships, playing lead/solo trombone with the Nick Ross Orchestra on tour in the U.K. alongside working on my own various jazz projects and ventures. I'm is also currently holding the position of trombone tutor at Salford University in Manchester alongside working occasionally as guest conductor of the Salford University Big Band.
